If you’re looking for a hostel with a strong social atmosphere on Koh Phangan, this might not be the best choice. However, if you’re looking for an affordable and convenient place to stay, especially when other nearby hostels are fully booked, this is definitely worth considering. The price is hard to beat, and the location is convenient, right next to Kohmunity Hostel.
One interesting thing about this place is that it’s a mix of a restaurant and hostel. The restaurant is on the ground floor, while the hostel is upstairs, so it has a slightly different atmosphere compared to a typical hostel. There are only two dorm rooms, so it feels more simple and low-key rather than being a very social or lively hostel.
From my experience, the dorm room was quite dark even during the day, and the mattress was on the firmer side. It was a little less comfortable than what I’m used to, but still perfectly manageable for a short stay. The shared showers and toilets are located outside the room and are quite spacious. The showers are cold, so that’s something to keep in mind.
Overall, I still had a good stay. It’s a simple and budget-friendly option, especially if you mainly need a place to sleep and don’t mind a quieter hostel environment. Another nice bonus is that the restaurant downstairs serves good food, so you can easily grab a meal without having to go far.
