Review of the Skylen hostel Agoda
I only stayed at the Skylen hostel for one night before I flew back to England. It was perfectly adequate and the cheapest place in downtown Harghada, it cost me LE250 without a breakfast, Before that a few weeks ago, I stayed in northern Hurghada at a place which is slightly cheaper but much more out of the way, this part of downtown Hurghada is bustling with tourist shops and is close to the beaches and this hostel is right in the heart of the city, McDonald’s only two minutes away. There’s lots to do lots to see lots of dive shops. I stayed in the dorm which had three new bunkbeds sleeping six people in all, I had a pleasant night sleep there and surprisingly it was quite quiet. The hostel is on a side street just off from the main drag, Which means it’s not bussley and much quieter, but really difficult to find.
I suggested to Clodia , the lovely lady behind the desk, that on the hostel sites such as Agoda et cetera that they should put the address in Arabic, as I had a heck of a job to find this place, even though the Taxi said he knew where it was after showing him pictures and the address (partly in Arabic) and I was only coming from the go bus station which is only about 2 miles away, but we went round and round he had no idea where it was so we were stopping asking people he was telephoning people and getting me to speak on it he want me to go on my Maps but the trouble was I haven’t got haven’t got any Egyptian Sim card so I had no Internet, eventually we made it here and he was demanding a lot more money. I gave him a little bit more, £60 total, and walked off
The only problem with this hostel is it had no Internet, Claudia said be five minutes, an hour later she said 30 minutes, an hour later she said maybe tomorrow, when tomorrow came still no WiFi, it’s now evening time and it still no WiFi, grrrrr, but Claudia allowed me to hotspot off her phone which was very helpful.
I would definitely stay at this hostel again, and fully intend to when our next come back here.
