    We returned to Sanctuary Cap Cana after an incredible stay last year for my birthday, and somehow, this trip surpassed it. Booking a castle suite with butler service completely transformed the experience, elevating everything to a whole new level. The property is what drew us in the first place, and it never disappoints. The visual aesthetic is stunning — the kind of place that genuinely stops you mid-step. But what truly sold us, then and now, is the staff and the food. Every single person we encountered seemed genuinely happy to be there and happy to help. The service is top-notch in the truest sense of the phrase, not just polished, but warm. As people with backgrounds in the service industry, we tip generously and intentionally. We budget at least $100 a day for staff, so take that context as you will, but the attentiveness felt authentic throughout. Our butler, Samual, was a standout. He pre-booked our dinner reservations and kept our suite stocked exactly as we requested, down to specific water bottles and sugar-free drinkable yogurt — a niche ask that made a real difference for me personally. Those small, thoughtful touches are what castle suite service should feel like. The vibe is exactly what we come for. We’re a couple in our 30s who want nothing more than to spend the day at the pool, make friends at the bar, and have a beautiful dinner before calling it a night. We genuinely call this our “do nothing” vacation, and Sanctuary delivers that fantasy flawlessly. The crowd skews older than us, but honestly, that suits us just fine — zero party scene, all charm. A few honest notes: if a great beach or nightlife are priorities, this isn’t your resort. But if you’re drawn to breathtaking aesthetics, exceptional service, gorgeous pools, and an atmosphere that feels more like a retreat than a resort — you’ll understand why we’re already planning to come back next year.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

    The hotel and grounds are gorgeous though the beach access leaves much to be desired in an area where the water is beyond. Food is pretty good but lunch options are definitely limited and lacking. The rooms were gorgeous and staff was incredible

    The resort itself is very nice and serene, the beach and facilities are great. The gripe we had was the charges for every little thing including sanctuary town which said was included for food when we booked. Room service charges are also unacceptable for an all inclusive property. Our room had cockroaches in it which we were appalled by, and even though we were switched to a new room it left a very negative experience of the overall resort and made it difficult to eat.
