    Stayed for a long weekend in Porto. Loved the rooftop bar with great local wines and fab views. The gym is huge and as well as the pool there is a steam, sauna and jacuzzi all included. Breakfast was comprehensive, staff couldn't have been more helpful. A little out of town but Ubers super cheap, from Euros 2-6 into town or to the beach.

    Relatively newly renovated. Big rooms. I liked the split bathrooms. Not many restaurant choices nearby at least for Sunday morning breakfast.

    I woudl not have bothered with a review, but since you are asking for feedback and we have been gobsmacked from the moment we checked in, here it is. First of all, this is not a 5-star hotel or a four-star. Maybe a three-star, but closer to a two-star. Possibly the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. It looks nothing like the pictures; some areas, like the reception and the dining room, have been refurbished; the rest of the floors are dirty rooms with stained carpets, reminiscent of the 80s when the hotel got the 5 stars. The pool and spa, or whatever that is, is particularly depressing, on par with the sad rooms, and makes you want to check out as soon as you wake up and wonder how the hell I ended up here. We genuinely found ourselves wondering whether we were still in Portugal or had somehow been transported to a forgotten Soviet-era resort that tourism never quite discovered.
