    The lobby looks modern and welcoming, but unfortunately, our room was quite disappointing. The room felt outdated and wasn’t as clean as we expected. We were also allocated a room on Level 1 overlooking a fence and a rather neglected area, which made us feel like we had been given one of the least desirable rooms in the hotel. The amenities were okay, but overall, the room didn’t match the impression created by the modern lobby. The location is quiet, which is nice, but we found it difficult to find restaurants, shops, and other conveniences within walking distance. Overall, the hotel has potential, but our room and its location within the hotel really affected our experience.

    I stayed at the Oriental Hotel in the USJ area in the past, and the Kyoto location leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to customer service.

    The hotel is lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. Close to public transportation, temples, shopping streets and Gion district, I enjoyed the Japanese style breakfast, great way to start the day. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

    The hotel is nice and kept well, however the position is not the best depending on your necessities, but in general there are no shops and metro stations closer than 10min walking. They were incredibly nice, we’ve asked to have a Japanese style room a few days before arriving and even if they didn’t had it at the time, they remembered after a cancellation and it was very nice. I would suggest to give one refillable carafe per person, cause they are very small and the fountain is only on the first floor. Last but not least, for the rooms next to the elevators should be made an extra soundproof wall cause we could hear the bell all the time like it was in our room. This is to be very picky and more as suggestions than complaints, overall it was a nice stay.
