    It felt like you've entered to another world when you arrive at their resort. Everything here is just so clean and calm. The check-in was very smooth and fast, with refreshing cold towel and tea provided. Not to worry with you're unable to speak Thai, as most of the staff are able to speak very fluent English. My friends and I booked for the Tatami suite that comes with our private ensuite onsen, which was amazing that can fit 3 of us in. The room was exceptionally clean and free snacks were given to us not long after we checked in. We too opted to have dinner at their only restaurant, which has a wide spread of both Thai and Japanese cuisine you can choose from. The public onsen was amazing! They had both indoor and outdoor hot pool and two cold bathtub included. It felt so authentic the whole onsen experience! Complimentary breakfast were included in our stay, and the breakfast buffet was beyond our imagination. They had great selection of food from both Western and Japanese cuisine. The food were incredibly fresh and tasty! We will definitely plan another stay here again when we visit Chiang Mai!

    Stayed at the Grand Suite with Private onsen. When you stepped into the hotel, I felt as if I was teleported to Japan ! Everything and I mean every single details will give you the feeling that you are in Japan! Felt More “authentic “ than some onsen I visited in Japan. The room was spacious even for 4 adults and the futon beds on tatami were super comfortable ! The onsen (both indoor and outdoor) were excellent - 2 hot pools, 1 warm tub and 1 cold tubs. The indoor onsen was nice if you want to have a hot dip early before the public onsen opens at 8 am. The food at the restaurant was excellent .They served the best breakfast I ever had - choice of Asian and western breakfast set or chef surprise buffet (which you can repeatedly order from 3 surprise dishes). The homemade Hokkaido milk break and croissant were excellent ! They even served Avocado ! A total rejuvenating experience for me. Strongly recommended ! Not the cheapest stay but I still give it a 5 star for the value - the experience was worth more than 5 stars !

    Our stay at Onsen at Moncham was unfortunately far from what we expected. The property itself is small and certainly not the “Onsen haven” it is advertised to be. We initially booked as a couple but were placed in a four-bunk double bedroom with one small window facing a wall — it felt more like a bunker than a resort room. When we raised our concern, we were told the resort was fully booked and that no other rooms were available. For the second and third nights, we were moved to another room which was clean and of average quality, but the bathroom was confined and windowless, and the bathtub on the balcony offered no privacy. The bed was oddly raised by one step, and unfortunately, I tripped and fell during the night, injuring both of my lower legs. What was meant to be a relaxing vacation turned into a painful experience. To their credit, the staff were very kind and attentive — they responded immediately when I reported the fall at 4 a.m., brought a first aid kit, applied antiseptic and plaster, and even gave me extra supplies for later use. However, other aspects were disappointing. The “private onsen” in the room is simply a normal bathtub, and the public onsen area is small and of average quality. The transportation options are limited, and the hotel’s transfer fees are high. External ride apps like Bolt are not reliable here — drivers often ask to cancel the booking and demand triple the price. Overall, the resort does not justify its high price. While the staff’s friendliness stands out, the facilities and value for money fall short of expectations.
