O9 STAY

In my (bad) experience, this place is ridiculously poorly managed. It is somehow simultaneously both over- AND under-staffed. All the workers do the bare minimum (if that). From the moment I walked in, the receptionist did not have a computer that was on -- much less have a record of my booking. After having to show it to him on my phone, and a bit of a wait, and some to and fro with multiple other managers?/receptionists?, I was finally shown to my room. My room? Noticeably dirty. Mold behind the bed, dirt in the corners of everything, especially things that get touched (e.g., light switches)... In particular, the bedsheets and pillowcases had NOT been changed. They smelled and had stains on them. I requested new bedding on my way up to town; when I returned, ONLY the fitted sheet had been changed. When I asked again for new pillowcases (badly stained from hair oils) and towels (noticeably dirty with dirt), they took hours to respond. I had to ask again (3 hours later), and even then, he only took the dirtiest pillowcase -- never to even come back with a clean one (maybe they didn't have any?). Then came the gaslighting: When I tried the TV, the subscription had lapsed (the last payment was in 2024). They said it was the monkeys. When I tried the shower, the hot water didn't work. They said they would "fix" it (an old broken-down geyser?). They didn't. They said that even though the sheets had stains, they had been laundered. They hadn't (clean sheets smell clean). Finally, when I asked for the WiFi, they put me on an unnamed, unsecured network. They continued ignoring and gaslighting me until I contacted my booking agent (Agoda) to submit a complaint. Upon which, they became apologetic and actually moved me into a slightly cleaner room. Well, at least the hot water worked there... I expect better when paying ₹2500 per night. Because you know what else ₹2500 can buy? For one thing, it’s more than enough for new sheets and pillowcases.
