My Hotel Ryugu

The hotel was fine, the price was good and the location was good. Some things to be aware of: The beds are really firm, the air con in the room is kinda loud and the laundry facilities are located on a floor with smoking rooms so if you don't smoke it is unpleasant to walk down that corridor to use the laundry. Staff were nice and everything else was fine

Family of 4 with 2 children. Arrived kinda late at night, we were given a big room with tatami floor and 4 Japanese futon beds. Looks like the room was used as a conference room or social activities room before, and was turned into a guest room. We were told there was no bathroom in the room. We need to use the public toilets outside of the room. The shower room is also outside of the room, with lock and assigned for our use during the stay. There were stains on the tatami floor and looks not so clean. We found a big live cockroach came out from the duvets when my son was trying to make the bed. The staff was informed (cant speak English) and it’s difficult to communicate using translation apps and showing him photos. Anyways we were given another really small room on the fourth floor to continue our stay. It was a smoking room and was really hot. We talked to the staff again, he said the whole hotel is actually non- smoking…unbelievable…. as the smell of the whole 4th floor was so bad when we stepped out the elevator! The air conditioning didn’t work and indoor temperature was at constant 28deg. Talked to the staff again, he offered us an electric fan per request but still it was so hot and the air was so bad. Bathroom smells like sewer. The futon beds were dirty - those bed covers were used - we even found hairs and dirts. The staff came apologize again but offered no actual assistance. We asked for bed sheets to lay on top the futon mattress, so we can still stay for the night. In the middle of the night I realised the air condition is getting even worse so I need to open all the windows to get some air. We stayed until dawn and escaped from that terrible place. The photos shown on the booking website are not the same as the rooms we stayed. Bathroom should be Ensuite per our booking, but we were given a room without private toilet in the first place. scam. I also regretted for not moving to another hotel right the way after realising so many problems. I was still blamed by the family for still staying the night there. Ruined the family trip.

Outstanding Stay with Top Service The location was incredibly convenient, and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly throughout the stay. Cleanliness was impeccable, contributing to a comfortable environment, while the facilities met all needs efficiently. Overall, it offered great value for money, making it a highly recommendable choice.

We didn't expect that the room would be so dirty. We only stayed for 1 night with our 5y/o daughter and got the Japanese style room. It was spacious and all but everything is so dusty, and they didn't change the sheets as well. When I checked there were still hairs from the previous occupants of the room and the trashbin from the bathroom hasn't been emptied. We got that it's an old hotel, but at least keep it clean. Also everywhere reeks of cigarette smoke. If you're traveling with young kids, I don't recommend this hotel at all. If you're not particular with cleanliness, then this hotel might be just for you,it's close to the train station.
