Magindara Guesthouse

The resort is close to the beach, where we jumped off to our island hopping for 2 days. There is an entry point to the Survivor Camp nearby but it is gated. The cottages are clean and comfortable. However, the place is only run by a WOMAN CARETAKER with no idea on CUSTOMER SERVICE. She appeared nice and friendly at the start, but when the she learned that our friend from Caramoan already made a booking for our island hopping, she showed resentment, and even informed us that the resort had the right to book, to which i VEHEMENTLY DISAGREE TO. We travel a lot and this is the first time that a resort tried to impose that we should have booked our island hopping from them. So this was the BIG TURN OFF. On our 2nd day towards 5PM, we noticed we had a flat tire. The guests in the cottage near us said that they noticed it around 10AM, and asked if the WOMAN CARETAKER informed us. When I asked her why she did not inform us immediately upon our return, when there was still time to have it vulcanized, she said, "I thought, you noticed it already". She absolutely does not know how to look after the guests, and I could not help but think that this is because of her resentment that we did not book our island hopping with her. She did not offer any help at all, so we called our GUIDE, and he was the one who helped us jack up the vehicle, looked for 2 guys with the skill on removing the spare tire from under chassis, and put in the spare tire. I have been all around the Philippines, and I have always been amazed by the innate hospitality of resort staff, even is they are just simple folks and plain caretakers. This is my first time to encounter such an "attitude". Other than this, the resort is OKAY. If you want a professional customer service the resorts on the left and right of Magindara have an edge. So I recommend that the owners train and guide their caretaker so that I can recommend the resort to my circle of influence. Except for the woman caretaker, our overall experience with the people in Caramoan was pleasant.

Magindara Guest House Review My stay at Magindara Guest House was disappointing, to say the least. The weather during my visit was rainy and stormy, which added to the discomfort, but the accommodations themselves were far below expectations. Here’s an honest review based on my experience: Cleanliness: The bedsheets felt unclean and had visible stains, as did the towels provided. It was not up to even basic backpacker standards, which I’ve found to be much cleaner in other places. Food: There was no food available on-site, and we had to order from another place for dinner. This was inconvenient, especially given the weather conditions. Amenities: While the air conditioners and fans were functional, the bathroom lacked hot water, making showers particularly unpleasant in the stormy weather. Staff: The only positive aspect was the staff. They were kind and apologetic about the situation, which made the experience slightly more bearable. Deceptive Marketing: The pictures and reviews online were quite misleading. The actual conditions of the guest house didn’t match what was advertised. Value for Money: Overall, it was not worth the price paid. The level of cleanliness, lack of amenities, and absence of dining options made the stay feel overpriced. While the staff's hospitality was appreciated, the overall experience at Magindara Guest House left much to be desired. I would not recommend it unless significant improvements are made.
