    I don't like giving negative reviews, but this place left me no choice. Writing this is the only way to regain some value from an expensive mistake. I stayed 3 days and 2 nights here. The good: The caretaker and her family were nice. I felt the sincere hospitality throughout my stay. Early checkin was allowed. The bad: There was no internet connection during my entire stay. The caretaker promised it will be fixed on the first night, but it never happened. She kindly loaded my device a prepaid promo, but cell reception inside the room was so weak I had to step outside every time I needed to get online. Smelly bathroom. The biggest turnoff. The bathroom had a strong, unpleasant smell, which spread to the bedroom itself. They said it was because the bathroom in the adjacent unit was clogged. It was resolved initially, but the smell came back the next day. Gross. 🤢 Worn out facilities. Don't be fooled by the pictures posted. They must have been taken at least 5 years ago. My room (couple room) was not maintained properly. The bathroom fixtures were rusty, and the faucet was broken, leaving only the shower head functional. The water pressure is weak and fresh water is only available during certain hours (ok, maybe this one is understandable). The open spaces were littered with small trash and random household items. Basta, as soon as you go inside the property, you can already see and feel that it's not maintained properly. Idk, you will not feel cozy. The neighboring resorts -- which aren't listed on Agoda— looked to have had better facilities. I regret booking without looking around first. I think those adjacent resorts can only be booked through Facebook. Lesson learned. The island hopping tour that they organized for me was, at least, fantastic.

    I had a wonderful stay at Magindara Guest House. The staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help. It offers great value for money you get exactly what you pay for. While the facilities are simple and not the most luxurious, they are comfortable and more than adequate for a relaxing stay. The highlight was definitely the food. It was some of the best I’ve tasted in Bicol! They happily accommodate requests, and whatever local Bicolano dish you’re craving, they prepare it amazingly well. The beachfront location is another big plus, with a refreshing sea breeze and a relaxing atmosphere. Overall, a great place to stay if you’re looking for comfort, good food, and excellent hospitality.

    Magindara Guest House Review My stay at Magindara Guest House was disappointing, to say the least. The weather during my visit was rainy and stormy, which added to the discomfort, but the accommodations themselves were far below expectations. Here’s an honest review based on my experience: Cleanliness: The bedsheets felt unclean and had visible stains, as did the towels provided. It was not up to even basic backpacker standards, which I’ve found to be much cleaner in other places. Food: There was no food available on-site, and we had to order from another place for dinner. This was inconvenient, especially given the weather conditions. Amenities: While the air conditioners and fans were functional, the bathroom lacked hot water, making showers particularly unpleasant in the stormy weather. Staff: The only positive aspect was the staff. They were kind and apologetic about the situation, which made the experience slightly more bearable. Deceptive Marketing: The pictures and reviews online were quite misleading. The actual conditions of the guest house didn’t match what was advertised. Value for Money: Overall, it was not worth the price paid. The level of cleanliness, lack of amenities, and absence of dining options made the stay feel overpriced. While the staff's hospitality was appreciated, the overall experience at Magindara Guest House left much to be desired. I would not recommend it unless significant improvements are made.
