The hotel room got unpleasant smell. The bed sheets were dirty. The receptionist was unfriendly as she rudely repeating on our enquiry on the deposit of luggage. Room is small. The lift was crowded .

The room is small and there are unpleasant smell. The room full of foul smell when we step into the room. The lift is crowded as shared with resturant guests. The staff attitude is bad and unfriendly.

Bit of love/hate relationship with this hotel. Firstly, my honest thoughts are; the photos on the booking apps are deceiving. The rooms they feature are the more expensive rooms (with windows) and I have to admit, despite being a full-time traveller and very used to staying in hotels, I felt somewhat deceived when I went to my room. The first clue was the door opening ‘outwards’ and the reason was, the room was so small it wasn't possible to open inwards due to the bed etc. There were no windows, and we’d booked for 10 nights!! It's probably going to be similar for many hotels in Seoul, but next time we will stay a little further out of the centre for a better / larger hotel and jump on the metro.
Now some positives to balance the love/hate….Great location! Literally next to a metro station and right in the heart of Myeongdong.
The room was very clean, with fresh towels daily and bed linen changed every 2 days. Excellent shower and plenty of hot water, good air-conditioning, easy to control and the room was very quiet, I don't believe we ever heard anyone else, despite the hotel being full.
So from the aspect of wanting somewhere clean and convenient in the centre of Myeongdong, I could not fault.
The lifts were a little slow and for 5 days, one of the lifts was out of service, which you can't blame the hotel, but just be aware. We were on the 4th floor, so we simply used the stairs, though if you were much higher up, the stairs would be a challenge. Talking of the stairs, we were a little concerned that at times the emergency stairs were partially blocked by large laundry trolley (4th floor) and it was common for things to be stacked in the emergency stairway…. not ideal and I was surprised this would happen in Sth
Korea.
We loved our time in Seoul and the fact the weather was great and we had lots planned, we only went back to the hotel to shower and sleep, so any shortcomings were not too much of an issue for us.
