    La Villa Khaoyai is a nice, quiet place if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to slow down and escape the crowds. The property itself is quite calm and relaxing, although the entrance can be a little tricky to spot, especially if it’s your first time there. I stayed in Room 4 upstairs. The room looked surprisingly new and fresh, which was a nice first impression. Unfortunately, there was a noticeable musty smell, almost like mold, which was a bit disappointing considering how new the room felt. The bathroom was probably the weakest part of the stay. The water pressure wasn’t very strong, and the hot and cold water were on opposite sides from what you’d normally expect, so I had a couple of “wait, which way is hot?” moments. 😅 The bidet spray was also positioned on the other side, which felt a little awkward. Breakfast was pretty basic — rice porridge, fried eggs and ham, with instant coffee. Nothing fancy, but enough to get the day started. The air conditioning worked really well, and the bed was comfortable enough, although it wasn’t exactly a “wow, I never want to leave this bed” kind of bed. The swimming pool, though, was a highlight. It’s new, clean and very peaceful. I really enjoyed just sitting around the pool and enjoying the quiet atmosphere. One unexpected bonus is the nearby Lung Chai restaurant. The food there was genuinely delicious, especially the tom yum with sea bass. Definitely worth checking out if you’re staying here. Overall, I’d say La Villa Khaoyai is a good choice if your priority is peace and quiet rather than a super luxurious hotel experience. The atmosphere and new swimming pool are lovely, but the musty smell in the room
