Lakes Edge Lodge

We booked accommodation for family of 4, just for one night, arriving late after driving from Christchurch to Queenstown. The listing on Agoda was misleading — I expected a cabin, but it turned out to be a cramped room with two single beds and a bunk bed. With our luggage inside, moving around was quite difficult, due to the limited space. The reception was located far away, and at night it was difficult to find both the car park and our room since only a pamphlet with instructions was provided. During winter evenings, the area gets very dark, which made things even harder. Thankfully, we stayed only one night, as the place was not suitable for us.

The lodge was amazing! It’s very close to the lake, so you can easily explore the area. However, there aren’t many lights around the lake at night, so I recommend exploring in the morning instead. For the amenities, 10/10! We loved our stay here. ❤️ We booked a room for our family of six, which had 6 beds (3 bunk beds). For the price and what you get, this place is such a steal! The shared bathrooms were also very clean and well-maintained. There were two bathroom areas we could use, and both had toilet paper, showers, and hot water available. The shared kitchen, dining area, and lounge/sofa area were also great. The Wi-Fi was strong—I was even able to work remotely around midnight without any issues. The common areas also had good ventilation. The kitchen has refrigerators, hot water for coffee, toasters, and other basic amenities. Just set your expectations since these are shared facilities and different guests are using them. Check-in and check-out were seamless. We were provided with 6 keys for our room, which made things very convenient and flexible for our family. Parking was also good. We brought a family van and had no problem finding a suitable parking space. One thing to note is that the lodge isn’t really within comfortable walking distance of the famous church or the main town area if you want to buy food. However, if you have a car, it’s only around a 10–15 minute drive, so this wasn’t a dealbreaker for us at all. We visited during the third week of August, and unfortunately, most of the snow had already melted. Still, the area was beautiful and perfect for enjoying the scenery and nature. Overall, we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Great value for a family of six, clean facilities, strong Wi-Fi, convenient parking, and a beautiful location near the lake. Would definitely recommend! 🤍

This accommodation is ok if you're young, it was very noisy with lots of people stamping past your cabin, shouting and slamming doors until 2 am
