La Pirogue Mauritius

I had such a beautiful stay at La Pirogue in Mauritius. The hotel has an amazing tropical atmosphere, with stunning beaches, palm trees everywhere, and one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen. The bungalows are cozy and authentic, and the whole resort feels peaceful and relaxing. The staff were kind, welcoming, and always helpful. Breakfasts were great with a lot of options, and the location is perfect for enjoying both the ocean and nearby activities. What I loved most was the vibe of the hotel — it feels warm, calm, and truly Mauritian. Perfect place to relax, recharge, and make unforgettable memories. I would definitely come back again.

La Pirogue was an amazing stay. We had a beachfront villa and was perfect for sunsets, very clean and tidy, well kept grounds and offered lots of free activities such as stand up paddle board at sunset in a group, glass bottom boat ride, snorkeling, kayaks etc. plenty of food options to choose from as well.

Great location. Good facilities, dated interiors. We stayed here for 7 days too long. Let down by rude and incompetent staff and dirty rooms. We were told with half board we could go to the sister resort buffet restaurant as part of our package but they made it impossible to book a table and lied multiple times that it was booked out for days. We were there for a wedding and the bride and groom where staying at sugar beach and the restaurant was emptied and they had to book a table for us which they shouldn't have to do. If you are looking for a resort where you get served drinks by the pool think again. We have been to many resorts and never have we stayed at one where staff don't ask guest by the pool for drinks or snacks. Like they clearly don't know how to make money. You have to go to them, go to their cafe, restaurant or bar to get a drink. They don't know how to upsell. Also there was always something missing after they turned down our room. You get out of the shower and there are no towels, shower soaps not checked or replenished. I don't know it was an odd experience and we gave up. Night before checkout staff came in our room when my husband and I where getting ready in the bathroom, I heard a noise and got a freight and my husband said a letter with our checkout bill was left on the bed. We complained because no staff should come in a room to drop off an unnecessary bill. We were getting ready for dinner and of course we won't hear them knock on the door. They didn't even announce themselves. If I can hear a door I would of heard them announcing themselves. I complained and told them it was unnecessary to leave a bill on my bed when I hadnt checked out and we were probably going to spend more cash at dinner and at the minibar. If they wanted to provide a checkout letter or reminder call me or leave it in the room when you clean the room during the day. So unprofessional compared to other resorts. When I complained they continued to argue and say this is our procedure. No, this is a pointless thing to do when guests are getting ready to go to your restaurants when they open . Also we had friends that tried to organise a champagne to be sent to the bride and grooms room at the neighbouring sister resort and it was impossible to organise, they send you in circles.....you must call them, Sugar Beach then says you must organise through Le Pirogue. Honestly they don't know how to make money, make the most simplest things difficult and always say no. Never again .

The gardens, the staff, the beach, the lagoon, the food. It was all amazing
