Kowloon Harbourfront Hotel

The location is unbeatable: situated right between two train stations within easy walking distance, and super convenient for taking the ferry across to Hong Kong Island. The room features a very clean small kitchen, which is a huge plus. On top of that, the service is truly perfect—if any issue pops up, staff come to fix it immediately. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in HK!

The staffs were friendly. The room was as expected, good sized, clean and everything working. You can't beat the location that you can walk to the harbor.

I rented a two-bedroom apartment. It looked like a 4-star hotel, but in reality, apart from the housekeeping, nothing else showed it. It’s more like a decent apartment house. I couldn't find the bar, and the restaurant is only open for short periods during the day, so I couldn't get in. Their pool closes at 6 PM, so I didn't make it there either. So, there is definitely room for improvement regarding the services, but the apartment itself is clean and comfortable. For Hong Kong, the price is good, but getting over to the island is a bit inconvenient. The staff is generally okay, but two of them just stood there watching me struggle to drag my suitcases through the non-automatic door.

I don’t normally do reviews but this one is critical. Stayed at this hotel with my family 5 nights. Morning one went to gym. At 11 AM, was kicked out by a staff rep claiming they had to clean the gym. ????? I have been going to gyms all over the world now for 44 years and never once have I EVER been kicked out of a gym under the PRETENSE that they had to clean. Whynot do what every other gym on the planet does and clean around patrons?? Checking their opening hours again, I found that it is actually customary for them to kick people out not once, but TWICE a day, again under the PRETENSE of having to clean the tiny room, which could be easily done during closing hours. I do not appreciate being lied to, or more accurately, for someone to “urinate down my neck and tell me it’s raining”. I complained to the staff, but they disowned the entire thing, claiming the gym and the “clubhouse” it is in, is not part of the hotel. Weak, Cheap. Passing the buck. Anyway, I figured I could complete my daily exercise by going for a swim. Guess again. Under the PRETENSE that thunderstorms were in the area, the pool was shut. In my 5 days of staying there at this hotel, I saw the pool open two times only. I complained again to the staff and they explained that instead of checking outdoors for thunderstorms, they look online at a particular site. I guess if there is a thunderstorm within 100 square miles of their pool, they shut it down. I’ve heard of safety before, but this is SAFETY ON STEROIDS. If you are counting on using the pool with your family as I was, you can forget about it. It gets worse. On my last day in the hotel as I was again using the gym, and I was in the back room where you can do calisthenics, I was asked to leave the room. “We have booking for this room for 9-10AM.” It was already 9. “Where are the people who booked the room?” I was told they would come soon, so having no alternative, I left the room, which happens to be at least 1/3 of the small space the gym has to begin with. 9:30 came quickly and no one arrived for the supposed room booking. I approached the female staff member who delivered me this detestable LIE, and what a shocker….she was sitting on her phone. “Excuse me. The “class” you told me about never showed up. No one EVER showed up. Why did you tell me there was a class?” This person never even looked up from her phone. I was angry enough to do something stupid, so I got out of there quickly and again complained to the staff, who did a repeat of the previous day described above. I have never been treated more rudely at a gym in my life, and at age 62 and having gone to gyms in probably 20 different countries of the world over a period of 44 years, that is saying something. Want more? The “gym” does not offer any water. Want water? Go out and buy it yourself and bring it…otherwise, you are screwed. And for a gym supposedly so interested in cleanliness, one would think they might offer complimentary towels for those who use the gym. Guess again. The above RUINED my stay at the Kowloon Harbourfront Hotel. I’d write a zero star review but this will have to suffice. Please note that there is no exaggeration here and in fact, I could write more.
