We loved our stay at Hotel Sigiriya. The rooms and beds were really comfortable. We usually prefer smaller style hotels, however we chose this hotel for the location and the view of the rock and it was perfect. We had our older sons with us and we lay by the pool drinking a beer looking at Lions rock. enjoying the ambience. We didn't eat at the restaurant as we prefer local restaurants of which there are plenty within a 5 minute walk. We walked to the rock at 6am which was great as the walk up the rock itself does not take long. Staff are lovely and helpful and always willing to help.

We stayed for 2 nights and that was the best stay ever. So clean, so close to the shops and Sigiriya rock. Had breakfast which was fantastic. Honestly nothing to complain about. We will be back for sure when we are in Sri Lanka next ❤️❤️❤️

I stayed here just to capture the view of Sigiriya Lion Rock towering above the pool. The hotel offers generous buffet spread blending global continental classics with local flavors. Spa is available too. A minor hiccup, army of ants was seen lined up along the wall to the bed head. There was no food in the room. The room cleaning standards during the transition between check-out and the next check-in needs to be improved.

Nice hotel and a great location. I can understand why it scores well, but my stay was let down badly by constant pestering and a complete lack of common sense. I was repeatedly called in my room. After I specifically asked not to be called again, they called back two minutes later. I eventually had to leave the phone off the hook just to stop the interruptions. It then got worse. Despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign being on, staff ignored it and knocked on my door to deliver yesterday’s birthday cake — the same cake I had already turned away the previous night because they tried to deliver it while I was in bed. On top of that, they failed to book my 04:30 taxi to the rock. Luckily, I had my own vehicle, otherwise this would have caused a serious problem. I now have a long drive ahead of me and have missed the chance to catch up on sleep because staff could not apply basic common sense or respect a guest’s clear instructions. Very disappointing and I am not happy.
