HOTEL ROSE

This is a smoking hotel. Smoke from other rooms will enter your room. You could tell the staff cleaned the rooms but there was a roach crawling on the wall of my shower. The staff were good people/professional.

Cheap by NY standards. The room was clean and had everything I needed for a night, including a mini fridge (but no microwave). I would have loved my stay if not for the smoky smell in the hotel and the first room they assigned me. I asked to change rooms, and they immediately gave me a different one that they knew would be "better," so this might be an ongoing problem. Staff explained that the hotel is non-smoking, but some guests do it anyway. The new room had a really strong (and loud) exhaust fan, which I turned on. There's still a faint smell at night, seemingly coming from the corridor. If you're not sensitive to smell, this is a good, new, and cheap hotel in NY. The surroundings are slightly rough, but you're also close to a subway station. Just don't wander too far at night.

For a 2 star hotel is nice just wish it was less pricy

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve experienced. The condition of the room and the level of service were completely unacceptable. I stay at this hotel often and normally love coming here, which is why this particular experience was so disappointing and unacceptable. I checked in around 4:00 PM and was placed in Room 108 on the first floor. There was no working internet or Wi-Fi, and the TV did not work. A staff member came to my room twice to try to fix the TV, but unfortunately, it still did not work. I booked the room for one night, but I couldn’t justify sitting in a hotel room staring at the walls with no TV and no internet. I eventually gave up and checked out around 8:00 PM—the same evening I checked in, after being there for only about four hours. What disappoints me most is that despite all of these issues and my leaving the hotel early because the room was not functioning properly, I was still charged the full nightly rate and was not offered a reasonable refund. I’m not someone who normally complains, especially because I genuinely like this hotel and have stayed here many times. However, I do not believe it is fair to charge a guest the full rate when basic services and amenities are not working and the guest leaves after only a few hours because of those problems. This experience was extremely disappointing, and the way my refund request was handled made it even worse. I expected much better from a hotel I have supported and enjoyed staying at so many times.
