    Once a celebrated hotel, it’s disheartening to see Hotel Ilapuram becoming listless now. I booked this hotel after a few decades, just to have that nostalgic feel of staying in the heart of Gandhinagar centre. The experience is completely different now. The room corridors smell tobacco, the front desk staff are not in sync with someone booking with Agoda, taking longer time to allot rooms and give away breakfast coupons. The breakfast arena is totally chaotic. The special requests mentioned in the agoda booking were not adhered to with a lame excuse that the hotel is overbooked. Felt it was steeply priced for the experience they offer and simply not value for money. Spend a few bucks more and you can easily book into a state of the art hotel in the city. Pains me immensely to write this review about a hotel I once loved, but facts are facts.
