    We stayed for 6 nights, and overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. We would definitely come back if we have a chance to visit Sydney again. Pros - The room was just as pictured. (We stayed on the 3rd floor, which is technically the 4th floor including the ground floor, in a twin room with a private shower room.) - The room was clean and tidy. - The hotel is close to Kings Cross Station. It takes about 10 minutes or so to walk from the station to the hotel. - It has good access to everywhere in the city. - The shower pressure was perfectly fine. - The price is reasonable for the area. (We hope they won’t raise the rates!) Cons - It was a bit difficult to carry our luggage upstairs, not because there was no lift, but because the stairs are quite narrow. - There’s a bar on the 1st floor of the same building, so depending on which floor you stay on, it can get pretty noisy. The good thing is that the bar closes around 10 p.m., so you can enjoy some peace and quiet after that. Since we stayed on the 4th floor, the noise didn’t bother us much. - You can hear cockatoos screaming in the morning.

    Good for solo travelers . Affordable price for a nice location. Feels like I’m staying at a mini hotel. There’s no elevator and you need to take the stairs. There were some shortcomings but they managed to catch up. Shout out to Afrina who knows how to manage client requests. Thank you so much, Hotel Emerald!

    Location of the hotel is very close to the corner of a quiet street, be prepared to walk long distances to get there. No lift, be prepared to lift luggages yourself. It’s not really near city centre, a bus ride to city will take 30 mins. 15 mins walk to train station king cross. No toothbrush and no toothpaste provided. Staff man hours are very limited, so can’t really hold luggage for you if you have a night flight. Bed is also very creaaky. Simple room cleaning provided with clean tower. AC is working. Not sure why the TV keep auto-ON when we tried to turn off .
