Hotel Carmel is in the perfect location! The hotel is lovely but the staff! Exceptional! I asked at reception if the rooms had a fridge and was told no, I asked about ice and was told they’ll bring some up, however they sent up a mini fridge which I was not expecting and totally blew my mind. Amazing service by all staff I had an encounter with. Highly recommended.

Excellent little hotel within metres of the Santa Monica beach front. Older hotel presented beautifully. Staff very friendly. Room was great, aircon and ceiling fan, we had a 2 bed room for 3 adults, worked for us for 2 nights. Priced really well considering the location which is perfect! Lots of bars, cafes, shops and convenience stores all around the hotel. Super close to tour bus pick ups that go out to Hollywood etc. I would 100% stay again and highly recommend! This place is a little treasure right on the doorstep of Santa Monica beach and Pier.

The staff was very friendly, professional and accommodating. The hotel was very nice and clean. The only con is the parking situation. You either need to use their valet parking and pay a fee or the public parking which is nearby and also pay.

Hotel needs to be closed and renovated. Could be a classic boutique hotel if ownership put money back into property. Everything about it shouts update.
Staff were pleasant enough though needed more training.
Lobby was dark and dreary. Again, everything outdated especially the plumbing. Room didn’t have a view. Just a faux ivy screen.
