Hostal Boutique Princesa

We arrived and were let in early by a really nice lady. The room had a funky smell but we thought it was from being closed up so we turned on the heat and left to explore. We came back after an hour and the smell had gotten worse. The heat enhanced the atrocious smell. I sat on the bed and jumped off as the smell emitting from the bed made me gag. My husband pulled back the covers and we discovered that the mattress was upside down. He flipped it over and what greeted us was a completely stained and foul smelling mattress. We took photos and sent it to the lady who had let us in. They responded quickly apologizing and offering us a different hotel in the complete other side of Marbella. We were not sure what to do. We had wanted to be in the old district as it was supposed to be the closest and easiest to see all the sites. We grabbed all our bags and headed to the other one and even though it was cleaner than the other one it still had black hair everywhere and the electric panel was completely open. At night the screaming people celebrating thru the hotel was heard quite clearly and the cracks all around the door showed the lights shining from the hallway. Every time they ran up and down the stairs it triggered the lights. I had no sleep and the second night was the same. Yes it was better than the first but it was not what I had envisioned. The pictures are not the same anymore. It resembles a derelict building and the smells were noxious. As we had to move and go to a completely different part of Marbella we asked if they were willing to refund at least one night for our trouble but the owner only said if we booked again he would take off 10%. What in the world would ever make us want to stay here again. It was definitely a joke. Please do not go here as the owner is not helpful and you will not be safe or hygienic with the surroundings. I hope this helps someone.

It’s a beautiful place. Facilities were good. Tony the receptionist made an extra effort and upgraded my booking so I stayed in a big studio sith beautiful quiet terrace. The only minus is that the building is cold for winter so warm up for night. There is an airco to warm up the air.

Excellent location in pedestrian street of old Marbella. My room had access to a private patio — nice! Room was basic. TV did not work. I arrived late and there was no staff; then left on Sunday morning, and no staff either. Impersonal: you are given a code to access the building and another to open a safe with your key, after you exchange WhatsApp messages with the property.
