    I have read some very unfair reviews of this hotel. It has a grand and imposing facade, hinting at a glorious past. The interior is a little faded but this is reflected in the amazing price of rooms which were clean and the bed was comfortable. It is perfect for exploring Windsor and Eton, it faces Windsor Castle and has clearly surrendered its restaurant to become The Ivy. There are lots of places nearby to eat and for breakfast there is a cute little bundle of takeaway items, great value for £7pp. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a discount for residents parking at the Q-Park just behind the hotel. For a convenient and great value base I would recommend it. Save your pennies for The Ivy!

    Had we read the online reviews before booking we would not have stayed there. However we found that all three bedrooms we had booked though different in style and accommodation /size , all were clean and tidy though evidence of some TLC would improve them. The continental breakfast collected from reception in Paper bags turned out to be interesting and adequate although we were not aware at time of booking that how we would be supplied. Location for town and castle could not be better. We parked at Riverside Car Park which is 5 mins walk from the hotel.

    Terrible hotel. We looked at 3 rooms and decided we didn’t want to stay. Waiting for a full refund. Damp rooms with mouldy bathrooms, cracked windows panes, windows that didn’t open, inadequate privacy in bathrooms, dirty worn out carpets and furniture. Possibly the worst hotel we have seen, the photos on the sites are not representative.
