We stayed in the carriage house. Everything exceeded our expectations. We also rented bicycles for a very good rate from the the front desk.

Pricey for what you get. Nice room after complaining about no balcony in first room. Very few lake views from rooms....really only in main house or top floor of guest house. Continental bkfast just ok. My real problem is with AGODA, who charged me more than I clicked "agree to purchase" to.

Harbour View Inn is always a good place to stay as it is reasonable (about as reasonable as you get on Mackinaw Island), the keep their facilities clean and well kept, and they provide a wonderful breakfast each morning. The location is the best for exploring the island and the horse drawn taxi can pick you up and take you to your destination for $6.50 to $8.50 per person. Staff is wonderful and luggage is always easily taken care of. Don't know how they do it so well, but there folks have it down. Great place to stay! I think the rooms are better than the Grand Hotel and less than half the price and the location is much better to be a part of what is going on on the island.
