Kicked off our Bali Trip staying here, I must say that Sidemen is such a lovely place. Better still, it’s cooler and more chilly because of the altitude. The nature in this area provided for a much needed break away from hectic work days.
The crew were very helpful and helped us with our late evening check in.
The room was pretty decent in size, as well as the bathroom/toilet. Clean but could be better maintained overall. Room was pleasant smelling but the bathroom had a bit of smell sometimes, which might not be uncommon.
The only downside of our 2 nights stay here was the Tokay gecko in our room. We didn’t know on the first night but were shocked awake by its sound (booming as the room had a really high and pointed roof), and continued to wake us every 30–45 mins through the night. It was unfortunate as we barely slept the day before flying to Bali and had a really long and early next day, snorkelling, so we were really looking forward to a good night’s rest. No one’s fault really, these geckos are native to the island as well (I think?). It was funny cause at some point in the middle of the night, my husband proclaimed that it must be some booming recording to scare away bugs/animals while half asleep. We spoke to a staff the next day and asked if they might be able to help, and they said they will chase it out. Come nightfall, I did first hear it outside the room but alas, it eventually found its way back in. So we ended up having another semi-sleepless night and early checkout and water rafting activity the next day.
That aside, their mee goreng (fried noodles) breakfast was so good! Might be the best mee goreng I had in Bali thus far. Food does take quite some time to be served, so do cater ample time (45–60 mins) for breakfast if you have activities planned. Food is served on the second level shared space, and here you get a nice view of the surrounding rice padi/vegetation and hardworking farmers. Sit back, relax and just be present while enjoying your morning coffee/tea.

We enjoyed our stay a lot. The bungalow was very nice and very clean and had a beautiful bath room. The staff was very nice too.

The staff were so lovely and always there to help. Big rooms, everything clean and accommodating. Free drinking water in rooms and mini fridge. Would definitely stay again!
