We enjoyed our night at the Freehand. The restaurant and the pool were lovely. We walked to several art galleries and the Last Bookstore. There was a $32 fee added at the hotel, which was not disclosed on agoda.

It’s a great location! I did the girls dorm and there was no shampoos or body wash in the bathroom. The place had the bare minimum but when I stay at hostels abroad they at least have something you can use in the showers.

We did not get the same room as the one I booked online. The room was so small it was about 3 feet from the bed to the wall and that was all the area to store your bags and walk around. Only 1 person could move at a time. There are no phones, fridge or coffee maker. The room was dark. If you want ice you need to go downstairs and ask for it. They will bring it up to you when they can. We were moved to a bigger room, unfortunately the only space that made it bigger was a 2nd sink. We were too tired to move a 3rd time. The place is very dusty, the A/C was not working well, it was cooler outside, the curtains were too small it only covered half the window. The staff gave us a blanket to try and cover the other part of the window. The location is not too far from skidd row. While waiting in front of the hotel for their valet (***) to bring our vehicle, there were several men fighting in the street. The staff was nice, they gave us a *** food card. Apparently my complaints were not new to them. One laughed, another one said the rooms online are different than what they have available. The rooftop pool/bar was nice.
