Service and their hospitality is the best! Then the beach. Then the weekend events. Then the neutral pricing for food and water-sports. Then the overall stay.

We had great experience and will probably visiting the place again soon.

We had a relaxing stay at Durhan Beach Resort. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the place itself is really peaceful, making it a good spot if you just want to disconnect and relax. There are a few things that I think the resort needs to improve, especially when it comes to the rooms. We stayed in one of the ocean view rooms, and it needs some maintenance. The bathroom shower heads and faucets are already showing their age and could use replacement. The pillows and beddings were also quite thin, so there is definitely room for improvement when it comes to comfort. The food was average. Also, while the resort is advertised as having a white sand beach, the beach didn't really look like one when we visited. The sand was a bit muddy during our stay, which may have also been affected by the tide or weather.

Our booking was made through Agoda, which was better than the resort's published rate. However, for the traveler(s) on a budget, this place might come as expensive as they charge corkage for food bought outside (that means you can't cook too). There aren't many decent places to eat in the town (which is a bit far) (there's a 711 though). Staff are pleasant and warm. Place has a large parking area. Beach is OK, not really the ‘white sand’ they purport to be but passable. Didn't have the chance to try the restaurant, but one glance at the menu and the pricing made me run for the hills. The stay was 'OK, nothing great,' and could have been better if not for the following BUTS: 1. We were not told, nor was it mentioned in Agoda, that this resort requires a 2,000PHP CASH deposit upon check-in (more expensive than the room really). I believe in cashless transactions, and had no cash with me in that amount. I had to run to the nearest 711 to withdraw (which had the only ATM in town), only to find out the ATM had NO CASH. I had to drive all the way to San Rem to get cash. 2. Monday morning, I was awakened to the loud banging and clanging of construction next to our room. We were not told this during check-in. It was past 9AM BUT I stay up late and hence, wake up late. I came for the peace and quiet, but instead got this. I immediately started to prepare for departure the moment I was disturbed. 3. Management exhibited how utterly stingy they are by tying a pencil to the table (meant to fill-out their feedback form). Come on, remind me how much a pencil is nowadays? This may not be a bother to most but it clearly shows how management pinches every $$ to the last cent (wonder what else they pinch too). 4. There were mosquitoes in our room. 4 of them to be exact. But at least it was ‘clean’ and the AC was cold. If not for the promotional rates, I would not have chosen to stay here, and would never return (promotional or published). I cannot justify paying over *** for a mediocre and abysmal experience (nor see the value for money). But then again, Cebu/PH resorts are grossly overpriced.
