    the bus stop is right infront of the hotel, making it easy to travel around if you're not driving. the hotel may look old from the outside, but the rooms are clean and staff are friendly. there was even an onsen bath in our room! the onsen downstairs was also very enjoyable! we enjoyed our stay

    The river-side rooms have a great view, BUT the street-side rooms were terrible (we moved our room from street to river view, but were told we had to pay addition charge per day). The room is okay, BUT quite (VERY) small, for a '4 person' room. The beds and linen were very good (not Taiwanese rock-slab style, thank goodness!), BUT the it was VERY dirty / dusty under the beds, not having been cleaned in a long while, it appeared. The hot-spring pools were fine for adults, BUT provided NOTHING for interest or distraction for children (this is NOT a "family" sauna / hotspring facility). The buffet breakfast had decent variety (compared to some Taiwanese hotels), BUT almost everything ("hot foods") was COLD, and slow to be replenished. The service was good, BUT IF you could find anyone who could speak English (not a requirement, BUT a darn good idea for a tourist-centred destination, especially a hotel of this size!) Finally, the size of the hotspring fed tub in the VERY tiny bathroom was itself very small; it would be uncomfortable trying to share a hotspring bath with someone in that small a tub. Oh, and the price was okay, BUT it was jacked up 2~3 times normal prices due to it being a holiday weekend (I hate price gouging like this, BUT it's a common practice in Taiwan, so... Safe (I hope) no charge car parking was included, as were the cold breakfasts, at least.
