Set in a beautifully restored 17th-century palace near the Zócalo, this hotel masterfully blends historic charm with modern luxury. The rooms are stunning, featuring high ceilings and large windows that flood the space with natural light. While the traditional wooden doors may take a moment to master, they open onto a serene second-floor indoor/outdoor courtyard lounge. Here, mornings are leisurely, accompanied by a delicious breakfast, the soothing sounds of birdsong, and gentle sunlight—a truly tranquil start to the day. Directly below, the Azul Histórico restaurant offers exquisite dining. The lively ambiance extends until around 10 PM, adding a pleasant vibrancy to the atmosphere without being intrusive. The rooftop bar and pool are standout features, providing an exclusive, club-like feel. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with a cocktail while enjoying panoramic views of the historic neighborhood. Originally opened by Grupo Habita in 2011, Downtown Mexico has since become a member of the Design Hotels collection.
