This is a novel idea, but little signs of distress are everywhere: one of the central features, the shower beer fridge, was broken; the WiFi only worked in the lobby, not in our room; one of the beds lacked a mattress protector; and when we attempted to access “breakfast,” there were no plates or utensils, the coffee wasn’t hot, and the eggs appeared to be dry/burned. Unappetizing at best.
The restaurant is always good, but even it showed signs of decline: reduced staff, no merchandise, discontinued beers, and a limited menu.
On top of everything else, customer service at the hotel was essentially nonexistent. Not “bad,” but altogether lacking. For example, there was no suggestive selling whatsoever; when we checked in, the employee didn’t even try to sell us the $50 beer upgrade, and when she was done checking us in, she didn’t say anything, just stopped interacting. The next day, it was a similar story with a different person; not a whiff of a greeting, and we had to approach her to ask about check out procedures. I don’t expect anyone to be over-the-top friendly, but when you experience nonexistent customer service, you typically decide not to return. Even the slightest interest in our satisfaction is called for, especially when it’s our first time. Overall, the vibe was “moribund.”

Place is beautiful , room was interesting. Bed was comfortable & had a Great view of the pond . Even had a mini fridge in the bathroom stocked full of beers !
