Our stay at Disney’s Contemporary Hotel was extremely disappointing, especially considering the price of $***per night.
When we arrived, the front desk reception was not friendly or welcoming at all. I had previously spoken to a cast member on the phone and mentioned that this was our first time visiting. The cast member told me there would be something waiting for us in our room to celebrate our first visit. However, when we checked in, there was nothing in the room. When I asked the front desk about it, the lady was dismissive and unfriendly and simply said “all there is is a first visit pin.” The interaction felt very cold and unhelpful.
Later that night, my husband went to the front desk to ask if there was a microwave somewhere on property so we could heat up food we had brought back. The front desk staff member told him there was no microwave anywhere available and no utensils either. Because of that information, we had no choice but to eat our food cold. The next day, my husband discovered that there actually IS an accessible microwave at the Contempo Café that guests can use after hours. The staff member clearly gave us incorrect information, which was frustrating and unnecessary.
To make matters worse, in the middle of the night there was a young girl crying in the hallway saying she couldn’t find her mom. We tried helping her and looked around for her parent, but every room was closed and it was very late. We eventually had to call security, who came and helped the situation. While security handled it, it was still very concerning that a child was wandering the hallway alone in the middle of the night.
Overall, this experience did not match the level of service you would expect when paying $***per night at a Disney resort. Between the unfriendly front desk staff, incorrect information given to guests, and the overall lack of attentiveness, this stay was very disappointing.
