    We’ve stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Tiruchirappalli every year for the past three years, and our rooms have usually been upgraded. This year, I asked at the front desk if an upgrade was possible. The front desk manager said no, which we understood. When we got to our room, though, we were shocked by how old and worn it looked. The furniture was dated, and the room felt run down. We mentioned it to the bellman, who kindly went downstairs to speak to the staff. We also called the front desk to explain our concerns, and the manager then upgraded us. Based on our stay, I’d recommend asking for a suite. It appeared to be renovated, while the first room we were given looked quite old. I also feel the hotel is overpriced for the condition of its interiors. We appreciated the bellman’s help and the eventual upgrade, but the original room was disappointing.
