Tiny, clean room overlooking inner courtyard with shower and miniature sink. Large opening window, but no a/c or heat control in room.

I came to San Francisco for a longer work trip and this hotel was great for what I needed. While its facilities are not the cleanest, the room had everything I needed from it; there is a microwave and a mini fridge / freezer, a small place to hang things, lots of drawers and outlets, an attached private bathroom, a tv, and a great little window with a nice view (at least my room had this, I believe there are some internal facing rooms). There is complimentary tea and coffee in the morning in the lobby. There was no elevator but the steps were not bad at all - overall I enjoyed my stay and it was great for an extended stay.

We stayed at the Casa Loma for two nights, and was allowed to check in early which we greatly appreciated. Staff was attentive to our needs. The rooms were tiny and bare bones, but meet our needs as a quiet place to sleep for the night. Rooms have a small fridge and microwave. Tall mirror in room (very important to us lol). There was no elevator, so be mindful of that. The hallways are dark, worn, and gross, and there were some tenants making noise down the hall from us.
Despite the downsides, the location was excellent and probably one of the safer areas in San Francisco to stay on a budget. It is a cute, quiet neighborhood. Check out the skating rink across the street!
Trader Joe's is within walking distance, and you will be close to restaurants and night life in Hayes Valley. Close to parks and Painted Ladies. Very easy to catch a bus from this location down Haight Street or anywhere you want to go in the city. We would stay again.
