Situated in the heart of the historic city, the hotel enjoys a wonderfully practical location, close to the ferry terminal and within easy reach of George Town’s heritage streets, old shophouses and waterfront. Its greatest advantage is that you can step outside and immediately become part of the city. There is no need to rely constantly on taxis or spend time commuting between the hotel and the places you want to explore.
The neighbourhood is also a genuine paradise for food lovers. Numerous local restaurants, cafés, hawker stalls and traditional eateries are scattered around the area. In Penang, food is not simply something to be consumed; it is an essential part of the city’s culture. Staying at Bishop Hotel allows you to experience that culture naturally — from a simple breakfast in a local coffee shop to an evening wandering through the lively streets in search of your next meal.

It is important not to misunderstand what Bishop Hotel is.
This is not a luxury resort.
It is not the place to book if you are looking for an elaborate breakfast buffet, resort-style facilities or an Instagram-oriented boutique experience.
And because it sits in a lively central urban environment, travellers who are extremely sensitive to street noise or who expect a completely silent hotel environment should choose their room carefully. Guest feedback is generally positive about comfort and cleanliness, but some reviews have also mentioned noise and inconsistencies in individual stays.
That is a useful reminder of an important principle in travel:
A hotel in the middle of a living city comes with the sounds of a living city.

It was clean. Fairly nice. A good place just a little further from the tourist area of town. My room had no windows but im sure that was reflected in the price
