I needed a hotel for the night and I saw the best we was close to downtown, which is where I was going to be working for two days. I’ve been to Danville many times, but I usually don’t stay overnight. I chose this one primarily because of the location. The staff was quite present. The check-in was easy. However, once we came in the side door to go up to the room, I was stunned by how dirty everything was. It was like a construction site, but there is no construction that I was aware of. Literally dirt in the carpeting. The room was actually OK. The bed was comfortable that it was relatively clean, although I wasn’t making any assumptions. The shower never got warm so I took an almost cold shower. I wasn’t expecting much for this continental breakfast that many motels have but this was definitely below the minimum standard. In fact, while I was sitting in the breakfast room eating food that I brought myself, there is no yogurt for instance and I always mix that with my cereal, a number of people came and took a look at what was there and left. The juice machine was broken so they had bottles of cheap juice anyway it just seems like they’re struggling and they really need to close it in rehab the whole place because it is an excellent location.
