    Perfect location on the coast to coast. Good evening meal (fish and chips) and the breakfast was included. Very hot when I was there but there was a fan in the room. Recommend.

    Making the most of their location on the C2C by charging high room rates. Run down rooms, strange folding bathroom door that offers no privacy, bodge job DIY wet room that seems unhygienic with no working extractor fan so it was mouldy. Not very clean. Expensive food and drink (£3 for a lime and soda!). Dog in the kitchen. My list could go on...

    The room, food, and bar were all great, as was the available parking. Wuiet location, with walking trails and a train station nearby. However, those seeking a booking need to be aware that Glaisdale is quite a ways out of Whitby, and on not very safe country roads at that. I would not want to arrive or depart in the dark or inclement weather. Bearing these points, if you are looking for that British inn experience, you will not be disappointed!

    Where to start. The overall immediate impression when walking in is you have made a terrible mistake. It is tired in the entrance and looking upstairs you see a very tired carpet and paintwork. As we checked in at 3.45pm the first question was can you make a decision on what you want for your evening meal as we close the kitchen at 8pm and only 1 chef on. Not a great start but it went downhill from there. The rooms are dreadful, no other way to put it. Bathroom is a tired looking wet room style and the seals are yellowing. The bedroom is stark white but again aging and cobwebs in corners. I spent time dealing with spiders. Breakfast served between 8-9am ( no change for a weekend lie in but why you would want to stay in the room is a big question), is truly basic produce and not well presented or delivered by staff who seemed more concerned in getting you out of the way so they can get their breakfast. The beer garden across the road is so overgrown you can barely find the tables. Believe me for £ *** for a single room you feel mugged. My advice, stay elsewhere even if it is little more pricey and have a nicer time.
