I knew before booking that Alpine Crest was a bit outdated so I won't be "judging" on that. Overall our stay was really nice. We had 3 adults and 2 kids- we stayed in the E building 200 level (street level) It was great because we didn't have to worry about the stairs at all, thank goodness! Many of the units have steep stairs. The unit was spacious for 5 of us, full kitchen, dining table and living area with sleeper couch and tv. Washer/dryer- and 2 full bathrooms. Me and the kids stayed in the master suite, very comfy King bed with tv. The other bedroom had two twin beds (no tv in that bedroom). Staff was kind but just remember they are only really there M-F 9am-5pm (which they tell you that). I give 4 stars becuse overall our rooms were clean but there were some stray hairs in bathroom and the clubhouse/pool area could use a deep clean. We enjoyed our stay and if we wanted to stay in an older unit again then I would choose Alpine Crest again (street level unit only.) Oh and remember you are in the mountains---spiders love Helen! That being said never saw any in our unit, phew! :)
Yes you can walk to town if you park your car near their office and take the path- but only during the daytime because the path isn't lit.
