⭐ 1/5 – Extremely Disappointing Experience at Hotel Ahilya Fort, Maheshwar
We booked the premium “Arjun Royal Tent” at Hotel Ahilya Fort for 15–16 August 2026 at ~₹35,000 per night, expecting a luxury heritage experience. Unfortunately, the stay fell far below expectations.
On arrival, several issues were immediately evident: the plunge pool heating was non-functional, water pressure in the bathroom was extremely poor, and the overall washroom quality was not up to a premium standard. There was also persistent low voltage in the room, affecting basic usage of chargers and the refrigerator.
The tent itself appeared poorly maintained, with worn flooring and large gaps that allowed insects and lizards inside. We encountered multiple lizards in the room, which made the stay extremely distressing.
Most concerning was the behaviour of the General Manager, Ms. Jhumli Bhattacharjee, who was rude and argumentative. Despite our genuine safety concerns, especially due to my wife’s phobia, we were forced to check out after one night, yet still pressured to pay for the second night.
At this price point, the experience and service were unacceptable.

Amazing Stay. Calm, elegant and divine. Overlooking Narmada river and Ghat and temples below in quite hours of early morning truly make your soul so happy. Wish to spend more time in such ultimate solitude and divine environment. The stay also brings vibes when Great Ahilyadevi
