The hotel advertises itself as a strictly non-smoking property, but during our stay we noticed guests smoking various substances, which was disappointing.
The property is quite dated and is in need of a major renovation. The furniture, mattresses, kitchen appliances, and bathrooms all showed significant signs of age. When we entered our room, there was a pair of smelly socks left behind by a previous guest. After we contacted the front desk, housekeeping responded promptly, removed the socks, and cleaned the area. However, it took quite some time for the odor to dissipate or perhaps we simply got used to it.
On the positive side, the complimentary breakfast was excellent, with high-quality food and a good selection. The location is also convenient for nearby attractions, although dining options are limited and require a bit of a drive.
Overall, I would describe this property as more of an upscale motel than a true hotel. Given the nightly rate, I don’t believe it offers good value. For approximately $50 more per night, I would recommend staying at an IHG or Marriott property, where you’re likely to get a much more modern and comfortable experience.
