1. Sonia is an extraordinary cook. She made homemade breakfasts every morning (all fresh ingredients - many grown by her) and brought them to our unit. We also ordered dinners from her 3 out of five nights (wish we could have done 5/5 nights). They have a menu and the prices are entirely reasonable. It was so nice to have a fresh, gourmet meal made for us at the end of a long day of exploring. 2. The unit is kept impeccably clean and in great repair. Clearly, they put a lot of love into decorating the place. It is homey and relaxing. The three decks/verandas really expand the living space. 3. Keep in mind that the AC is very effective, but to use it best, you will want to close off the rest of the house, open the bedroom doors, and allow the AC (in the master) to cool the two full-time bedrooms. It was 90 degrees plus our entire stay (August) and we slept super comfortably with this set up. It was a bit warm in the other parts of the house (kitchen, living room), but we are Americans and are way more sensitive to heat than the Italians (who have no problem wearing pants when it is 95 out). 4. The City of Pompei is a great base of operations. The town itself is gritty and authentic, but we spent our time exploring the Pompeii Ruins, Amalfi, Sorrento, Rome, and Paestum, so it was more important for our location to be central and near the major roadways rather than charming and scenic. Pompei fit this bill. 5. Ample parking is safely behind a gate. Don't get me wrong - the area is safe. We could have left the car on the street, but there is simply no room. The B&B is in a city space, so don't expect it to be among rolling fields of sunflowers. However, know that to really immerse yourself in a culture, sometimes you need to move away from the highly groomed tourist areas and put yourself among actual, working (friendly) families.
