About this cottage rental
Meadowbank is a quiet Rural Agricultural community that borders the Clyde River as well as the West River located approx 30 minutes from the Confederation Bridge en route to Charlottetown. The cottage is located on a point right on the shores of the West River. Although it feels like you are miles away from Urban centers you are a 5 minute drive to nearby Cornwall which has everything you could need from banking, gas stations, medical center, to liquor store, grocery store, pub, and so much more. Another 5 minutes will have you in Charlottetown. If you are a boater, we are located right on the shore with areas available for launching your watercraft. To the East you are approx a 10 km sail to Charlottetown Harbor. To the west is a truly beautiful piece of water. This river is also ideal for speedboats and Seadoos as well as canoes and Kayaks. It is also known for its recreational Trout and Salmon fishing. The cottage itself is a roomy 3 bedroom cottage. It has a full bath, kitchen with full size appliances, a 55" satellite TV, and a dining area with a gorgeous view of the river right in your front yard. When you are sitting on the deck looking towards the river, the only obstacles in your view are usually the Blue Herons fishing on the shoreline or the embers from your bonfire as you wrap up the evening.

We had a wonderful stay! Our hosts, who were very pleasant and accommodating, answered any questions promptly. Check-in was seamless. It is what we consider a Maritime cottage - nothing fancy - but it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchen had all the necessities. The couches and beds were comfortable. We were five senior university friends and found the open kitchen, living area and dining area gave us lots of room. Wifi connection was excellent. The cottage is situated in cottage country down country roads but is in close proximity to Charlottetown and the South Shore. It’s a very short distance to Cornwall where you can get any supplies you need. What was so special as the water view!

We spent 10 days at Scott and Laurie's cottage. The location was perfect for us: a quiet spot on the water that is nonetheless a short drive from Charlottetown and a variety of busier attractions around the Island. The view of the West River and its tributaries can't be beat, and we enjoyed walking with the dog along the shore. We visited on the shoulder season, when the weather is somewhat unpredictable, and the cottage is well equipped with heaters for colder evenings and an air conditioner for hotter days (though we didn't need the air conditioner as the cottage is also well insulated). The kitchen is very well equipped with everything we needed and more for cooking and barbecuing. Critically for us, the internet connection was excellent, which allowed us to take video calls - this is not always a guarantee for Island cottages). Scott was extremely friendly and helpful upon our arrival and departure and checked in to make sure everything was going well, which it was. Laurie kindly provided some delicious welcome treats that we really appreciated! Thanks so much to you both and hoping to see you again next year!
