About this house rental

The HayJac House is a luxurious 2000 square foot fully remodeled and restored circa 1910, minimal traditional home located in historic downtown Bardstown one block from shops, restaurants and night life. Golf courses are also nearby.

The HayJac House is just 45 minutes from Louisville/Churchill Downs and centrally located on the World Famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail including bourbon distilleries in Bardstown, Nelson County.

The HayJac House offers you two large suites with king beds, luxury bedding, 4 large flat screen TV’s and sitting areas and they are all on the first floor.
The kitchen has all new appliances and is fully equipped for your culinary needs. The home has four exterior doors for easy access and is handicap accessible as well. The home also has full sized Speed Queen Washer and Dryer.

Your safety is one of our major concerns. There are 6 exterior security cameras in place. There are a total of 8 fire and carbon monoxide detectors throughout the entire home and attic. With construction just completed in 2018 the entire house is up to date with latest building codes and safety features.

In the unlikely event of a power failure, this beautiful home is equipped with a whole house standby electric generator.
Also, for your added comfort and pleasure the home is equipped with a whole house water filtration system to make your favorite bourbon and water drink tastes its best.

Relax at one of our four porches/patio areas after a fun day visiting our local attractions. If you enjoy grilling, there is an excellent Weber grill just off the back porch.

(#1) King Master Suite with large private bathroom including walk in shower, claw foot tub, double sink vanity, oversized mirror and heated floor. Split king bed with motorized ability to raise & lower mattress for each person. Plus the room has a couch & chair for your comfort.

(#2) This room also has a King bed, luxury bedding, TV, WI-FI and sitting area.

Now, we have saved the best for last. This beautiful home is in the best location in Bardstown. It is next door to the best donut shop in all of Kentucky. Hadorn’s Bakery is a family owned business that has been selling donuts and other pastries in Bardstown for nearly 90+ years and is a favorite of all the locals.

If you are asking yourself if you should book here, I would selfishly say no because I want to keep it a secret… but, I like to share, so I would say YES and run don’t walk.. This place has been top notch from start to finish.. Jim sent us places to visit and eat at, which got us excited right away… the pictures are accurate, but believe me when I say this, they do not do it justice… The hosts were top notch with communication, so many things they went above and behond for.. towels and linens were superb. Hadorns bakery next door is a must, known for their yum yums. Get there early.. my boyfriend asked me to marry him in the house, it is that wonderful.. will be returning back next year to sit on that back porch! The Chicagoans!

The house was absolutely perfect for a group of 4 adults on the bourbon tour, the amenities, space, cleanliness and overall decor of the pad. It was a excellent location in Bardstown, just a short stroll to anything you needed, restaurants, liquor store, brewery, etc. We honestly have to say that this is probably the best VRBO we have ever stayed in! What puts this house and the owners in a bracket above the rest were the small details that people need on a journey and like to cook.....Proper coffee and filters were at the house and ready to go, laundry detergent was there if you needed it (we did), there were ziplock bags, foil, seasonings, fresh big cube and round bourbon ice, extra water, plenty of good shampoo, body wash, etc. a gas grill that actually worked and was really clean (not to mention the all the utensils you needed for it) and multiple outdoor decks for hanging out. It is a beautiful home that has lots of love, the only negative item we could say is that we were bummed we didn't stay longer! Thank you Jim and Gina!

Easily one of the best VBROs we have ever stayed in. Great place to use as a home base for the Bourbon experience because it is close to so many distilleries. In Bardstown we could park at our place and walk to everything. The house was amazing!!! Clean, well stocked and over the top accomodations. The host Jim and Gina could not have been better. The charm of this house grabbed us even from the pictures but they didn’t do it justice. The house was a perfect home base to explore the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. It was conveniently located to many of the distilleries but it also provided a nice place to rest up for the next day. It was extremely well stocked and the owners communicated with us like we were friends of the family. We will certainly recommend it to our friends.

We were blown away by this house. We chose it for it's location to downtown Bardstown and it exceeded our expectations. It was so much bigger than we expected for a 2 bedroom house, it is recently and beautifully remodeled with every comfort considered. The outdoor patio space was very nice on mild evenings. The house was immaculate, the check in process couldn't have been easier. The hosts were very helpful with suggestions and always quick to respond to questions. The house is next door to a donut shop and around the corner from the Scout and Scholar restaurant/brewery. We were able to walk to dinner and live music each night of our stay. Highly recommend this house and we hope to come back again next year.

Beautiful property, my husband and I both loved the house. The primary en-suite is incredible. Walking distance to shops, several restaurants and cocktail bars and great donuts just around the corner. Highly recommend this property for adults. Great base for touring several distilleries, Lincoln’s birthplace and Bernheim Forest. Jim is a great host. He took the time to check on our well being during a major rain storm, most appreciated.

This gem is perfect in every way! This was our second spring to stay here and we will be back. My husband and I love the master suite with huge bath, closet and a comfortable bed very similar to our own…..split king which elevates. Tops for us: Location…walk to anything downtown! Plus, Bardstown itself is great for bourbon tours, restaurants, Lincoln’s memorial, old cemeteries, beautiful countryside! Cleanliness, decor, comfortable furniture, cooling/heating, bath and kitchen products. I could go on and on….plus EVERYTHING WORKS! We have stayed here a total of eight nights in 11 months and have not had one complaint! I asked my husband what he thought was the best thing and he said “Damn, everything is always perfect!”
