Okay - yard needed to be mowed - difficult for pet and keeping shoes clean - Only window unit air conditioning in main living area - bedrooms were warm and stuffy - thankfully we brought a small fan to help draw cooler air into bedroom

Provided a good "base camp" for me as I moved into the community. Neighbor, Charlene(?) very friendly as we discussed the black hen that made her yard it's home! Well equipped kitchen....make sure you check that fridge door closes!

The property was clean and had plenty of space for our family of 4. Our boys loved playing in the creek, and the large covered porch was nice. It's located very close to the entrance to Montreat and just down the road from downtown Black Mountain.

Property was great! Centrally located to Asheville and numerous walking trails. The only suggestion I have is to add a toaster to the kitchen. We would definitely rent this property again.

I rented this property the week of Thanksgiving for a trip home to spend with family. From beginning to end, the property host was great. The host stayed available for any needs, thankfully I did not need to contact. The home was clean and perfect for my stay. It was located close to many shops and restaurants, the host even leaves a few recommendations. All in all, the host was amazing, the property was great, my time with my family was even better. I will definitely be booking with this host again for future trips.

Perfect location

Perfect location

The property is in the perfect location. There's a roaring creek just outside the master bedroom windows to provide a perfect backdrop of sound to sleep to. You can't beat the location. Walk down the driveway and turn right and you've got a pleasant 1.3 mile-ish walk to Montreat Center where you have access to miles of trails or you could turn off 120 yards into the walk and go ahead and start the Rainbow trail right away. Walk down the driveway and turn left and you've got a sidewalk that will take you 1.5 miles into town. Lots of butterflies!

Relaxing and great location

Relaxing and great location

Loved our stay! Adorable house with a great open living space so everyone can hangout easily. Although we spent most of our time on the front porch, perfect for those cool mountain nights, accompanied by the sound of the rushing creek close by. My favorite part was being able to sleep with open windows and waking up to the sound of the creek. The location is great because it’s right by the Montreat gate, you can drive or walk the mile up to Lake Susan or the nearby hiking trails up there, while still being convenient to downtown Black Mountain, and of course Asheville is only 15 minutes away. We will definitely stay there again next time!
