IMPECCABLE, STYLISH COUNTRY GUESTHOUSE, IN IDYLLIC SETTING, NEARBY OTSEGO LAKE

This is a very nice house in a very picturesque location conveniently located for our itinerary of Cooperstown in own direction and several towns in the opposite direction. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Added personal touches: a charming country floral bouquet and begonia plant in the living area were lovely. Upon learning that my grandsons liked board games, several were placed in the house for us. An endless Monopoly game entertained them during our stay.Why four stars for accuracy of the listing? The only somewhat negative thing I would say is that the kitchen is apparently an afterthought and challenging for any serious cooking. It is tiny and the photos don't show that the refrigerator is under the staircase in the living area outside of the kitchen. Equipment is minimal and some is stored on the second level up the same staircase that the refrigerator sits under. Also, "across the road" is somewhat misleading as to the location of the pool and nature trail at the Woodruff Learning Center. No mention is made of the very long driveway from the house to the road. This was one of the attractive features that made me choose this house. Nevertheless it was worth the little trip to get to it. Overall, this is one of the best VRBO properties I've rented.

This architecturally significant guest house is beautifully furnished, and has every amenity. It is located in a peaceful country area, but is convenient to Cooperstown and the Glimmerglass Opera. The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. Check-in is easy with a combination on the door lock, and the hosts provided excellent directions to get to this secluded retreat. The hosts and the property are top notch; we highly recommend it.

We enjoyed our stay! The check in process was seamless.The kitchen was well equipped. Delicious peaches and snacks welcomed us!

Having stayed in many Vrbo accommodations before with our family, I can honestly say that staying at Max and Doreen's home in the Otsego Lake region was the absolute best experience we've had to date!! Not only is their home located on a gorgeous and tranquil piece of property with plenty of privacy, it was incredibly clean - literally spotless - and splendidly designed. Their attention to every imaginable detail from plush bath towels, to a well stocked kitchen, board games and books for children to adults, and foods such as fresh fruit and chocolates was just incredible!! We loved the fire pit too. We felt more as if we were visiting with close family members rather than staying in just a rental property. Situated close to Cooperstown we were able to easily visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the lovely Farmer's Museum with a carousel for the kids. Within 20 minutes of their stunning home we were able to visit several charming farms to go apple and pumpkin picking, and hiked on the phenomenal Robert B. Woodruff Learning Center trails that were mere minutes away. The trails were absolutely magnificent with multiple serene waterfalls and stunning photo opportunities around every bend. Our son loved climbing around the caves there too!! All in all our stay was phenomenal and we could not have asked for better hosts or a more perfect location!! I absolutely recommend Max and Doreen's home for your next stay. We are hoping to come back next summer for the Glimmerglass Festival!!
