B&B La Tour de Villa

This is a very special, and somewhat curious accomodation. It really is a 500+ year old castle, with various updates for modern comfort. Perhaps the most unique B&B we have ever encountered. Some updates were done a century ago, like the stairs to the sleeping floor, while some are a bit more recent, like electricity, and very nice bathroom. Do not expect a Disney fairytale, but do expect pleanty of elbow room, a great view in almost every direction, a depth of silience quite unusual in modern stuctures, pleanty to read, and a nice breakfast. Perhaps the best part of the stay is conversation with Christina, the proprietress. If you have any interest in history, the story of how the castle came to be in the family, and what had to be done to keep it, is worth the listen. My wife and I found it to be one of our favorite stays in our years of travel. The surrounding Aosta Valley also has much to offer. The photo is a view out the bedroom window to the west. This is not a negative, but understandibly, this stay would not be a great choice for those with mobility issues. The bedrooms and bathroom are on the second floor, which is reaced by a tight spiral staircase installed by a local bishop in the 19th century.

This setting is phenomenal and matched by the hosts hospitality and warmth. It was quiet and relaxing, we basically had the whole place to ourselves and walked the surrounding area in the morning.

I am really tall, 2.0m and didn't quite fit in the bed. My wife was fine.

Heel fijn en historisch verblijf, we verbleven er 1 nacht. Je verblijft er alleen (geen andere gasten) en je kan makkelijk 2 kamers boeken, wat fijn kan zijn als gezin. Heel vriendelijke gastvrouw, met prachtig uitzicht. Makkelijk parkeren. We hebben ook heerlijk gegeten in een trattoria in Gressan op wandelafstand, ook echt een aanrader!

פשוט להתעורר בתוך חלום! טירה (אמיתית) בת למעלה מ- 1,000 שנים, במיקום מקסים בין כרמים, עם נוף לעמק ולפסגות המושלגות, שקט מאוד. חדר מרווח מאוד, א.בוקר מקומית מעולה, מארחת נחמדה, בקיצור-אהבנו הכל!
