Beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches. We loved the Easter eggs hidden around the house. Breakfast was great, linen was luxurious and the fire was set ready.

Steps up to the bathroom but that was only because of my wonky knee

They provided a lovely breakfast, and the host was welcoming and helpful. The location was quite close to the town centre, and the place was quiet.

There was no hanging space or cupboards or drawers or even tabletop space, and the bedrooms were small. The place was very cluttered, with a huge amount of church and old-world items in the house, and things on every tabletop and windowsill. Some of it did add charm to the place, but there was just so much stuff everywhere. In the main bedroom, one bedside had a chair with a lamp on it, and the other side had a table with a water carafe and glasses, but no drawers or tabletop space. In the second bedroom, there were shelves stacked with books, and a doll house with shelves, also stacked with books - again no free space. So with 3 of us staying there, we had to put some of our luggage behind the couch, as that was really the only space to put anything. The TV was tiny - 24 or 26 inches? and not very good quality. The place and the heating were unsuitable for our winter stay. The ceilings were at least 4.5 metres high and there was a wood heater and a reverse cycle air conditioner in the living area, but no bedroom heating so you needed to keep the bedroom doors open to let the heat in overnight. The beds did have electric blankets. The owner thoughtfully turned on the heating before arrival but after 2 hours with the heating on 24C, the room was still only 16C as we worked out the vents needed to be set to face down to properly heat the room. There was no heating in the kitchen (or the room adjacent to the bathroom) so my wife cooked dinner with a puffer jacket on (it was 4C overnight). There was a good fan heater in the bathroom. In warmer weather, the heating wouldn't have been an issue, but the lack of space and clutter, and tiny TV still would have been.
