The friendly staff picked us up at the train station when we called for directions, which we really appreciated! The restaurant, the Golden Pfanne, also owned by Christel Roh, was conveniently located across the street from the apartment. Wonderful German meals there. They do not speak a lot of English and we do not speak much German but we were able to communicate and order food. The train station, cafes, grocery stores, the sights, are within walking distance. The apartment was well equipped with pots and dishes for making our own meals. Coffee maker and toaster for the morning was great. We did not want to stay in Heidelberg and Hirschhorn was perfect.
When we first arrived we kept the living room windows open as there was a slight stale smell maybe from someone smoking previously on the deck, but it soon dissipated.
