About this house rental

This 19th century farmhouse has been lovingly restored retaining as much as possible of its original features whilst aiming to provide spacious comfortable accommodation. It has 3 bedrooms all on the first floor. The ground floor comprises of a huge sitting room of over 32 sq m with large log burner for those winter's evenings and a large kitchen breakfast room with a stone floor and large inglenook fireplace. There is a big HDTV in the sitting room with a UK FREESAT system and a DVD player. The wifi system is superfast cable.

Our rental rates are include bed linen, bathroom towels, drying up towels for the kitchen. In winter there is an efficient electric heating system and a powerful wood burning stove. Wood is also supplied for free.

The main bedroom has a king-sized bed and ensuite facilities. The other rooms are on the small side one with a double bed and one with a set of bunk beds. The second shower room/WC is situated on the ground floor. The house has its own small private sunny garden with terrace but the property has extensive well tended grounds that you can use.

We do not have a pool, but less than 10 mins away is a beautiful man made lake with a beach and lifeguard as well as a really nice restaurant complex, tennis courts, and keep fit circuit. This is very popular with visitors

Classic car enthusiasts and motorcyclists are especially welcome and we have extensive workshop facilities, trailer parking space if required and secure covered parking for bikes.

We are building up a selection of GPS or map based tours to help you explore the deserted roads and stunning local countryside. There is much to explore, for example, Romanesque churches, the Pilgrim Route to Santiago de Compostella, the local sites connected with the life and death of Richard the Lionheart and sites connected with famous and tragic events relating to the activities of The Resistance in WW2.

The owners live next door and offer further B&B accommodation in the main farmhouse and so are on hand to ensure that you can make the, most of your stay.

Well behaved dogs are accepted (maxiumum of 2) but you need to be aware that we keep sheep and so your dog will need to be kept under control at all times. The cottage garden is fenced and secure for children.

If you drop us a line we can supply details of our website with more photos and detailed information including our Terms & Conditions and links to website with available on request. Further photographs and detailed information and links to other websites with information on things to do in the locality.

We are happy to tell you about the area and make suggestions if we can even if our property does not suit your requirements.

This place c’est magnifique! Claire and Stephen are the most superb hosts. You feel it from the moment you arrive…they are passionate about people, passionate about their facilities, and passionate about France. I will stay here again myself, and I will be recommending it (both the gite and the B&B) to anyone I know visiting the area. Merci

The Gite had everything down to a slow cooker and salad spinner. There was nothing that we required. Highly recommended.

We have loved our week at the cottage. Stephen and Claire are great hosts, greeting us with a warm and friendly welcome. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing break. We love this area of France so much we have bought a farmhouse to renovate just up the road. But we can see many occasions where we will stay here again before our house is finished, and many nights drinking wine with friends we are making in the area along the way (Stephen and Claire included)! I can highly recommend a stay here. The wood burner in the lounge is amazing, the dogs are lovely and the goats were fun. The scenery is stunning all around. Can’t wait to return. Thank you Stephen and Claire for a fabulous week.
