We tacked on a vacation after some appointments in Boston. It has been almost 5 years since we took a vacation and we chose this property because of its stunning location and pet friendly accommodations as we have a Senior Dog. Prior to our trip, Robin, the host promptly answered many of my questions pertaining to our stay. After a weary and somewhat stressful drive down, we were greeted with a beautiful view of Cape Cod Bay. The host kindly accommodated an early check in for us. We made the most of the sunny weather and headed down to the beach. There are many stairs so our elderly dog was not able to go down to the beach ( we knew this in advance). The weather for the rest of the week did not cooperate unfortunately ( foggy, rainy) but we made the most of it. We were able to explore a little of the area when it was not raining. It cleared up just in time for our departure! Robin did offer us an extra free night but we were unable to take her up on her offer ( we did stay for an extra few hours however). Overall, the house was very nice. It is an older home so one needs to know that in advance (which we knew) and it is part of its charm. It was plenty big enough for the 3 of us ( plus our dog). The kitchen had everything you could need and the bedrooms are nice. The hosts seem committed to upgrading the house with new features every year ( we noticed some changes from some of the photos, ie carpeting in bedrooms, painting, etc). We very much enjoyed our stay!

The views and sounds of the ocean were breathtaking and relaxing. For some of us like my granddaughter it was our 1st beach vacation. The community was very welcoming and neighborly. The house was stocked with everything we needed to go beaching and enhance our stay. We miss it already 😊

We absolutely loved our stay at House by the Sea. The pictures, while stunning, don't do this property justice. It's an incredibly charming, old house that has been meticulously outfitted with every modern amenity you could want. Designed and curated beautifully, I'd call it antique beach elegant. Awesome chef's kitchen if you choose to cook, wine/drinks fridge and coffee bar are such nice touches. Comfortable bedrooms, each with it's own character, all with plenty of windows to take in the sea views. We stayed in September so the gas fireplace in the living room was perfection in the evening. Lots of beautiful linens, plush towels, soaps, paper goods all provided and plentiful. The location on top of the bluff with sweeping views over the ocean and beach made us hang out on the veranda for hours. The large screened porch is perfect and the yard is also spacious with chairs and fire pit and both a gas and wood grill. Yes, there are a lot of stairs down to the beach, and it's easier down than up, but nothing unmanageable. And it's all worth it once you hit the super quiet beach. I believe it's private for residence and guests only. The house is in a really quaint, friendly and quiet neighborhood and still very close (walking distance even) to restaurants, coffee shops and a boutique market. Robin was wonderful - super responsive throughout the entire process from answering questions, to booking, to following up. And she clearly has an attention to detail as I do believe she thought of everything a guest could need or want and then some. I'd highly recommend a stay at House by the Sea. Start to finish, you will not be disappointed in the least.
