Amazing view, close to the ocean, close to the pool. Only negative is there is no ac in the living room, however, they did provide 2 fans that helped quite a bit, and we spent most of our time outside where there was a nice ocean breeze. The bedroom has one that worked great!

This was my 2nd visit and stay at Kapaa Shores. The location is the best and a great value for the dollar. I hope to be back every year to celebrate my birthday.

We had a great 10 day stay at the garden island resort, Kapaa shores. The front desk staff were amazing when we were having transportation issues. A106, although a little dated, was still quite comfortable. The views and location were excellent.

1ST AND FOREMOST - check out is 10am, the cleaning person showed up 5 minutes early and stood at the door, arms folded as I dragged our stuff out. I understand check out times but every place I have ever stayed at has a space cushion of some kind built into their schedule - SERIOUSLY FELT LIKE BEING EVICTED AFTER SPENDING THOUSANDS TO RENT FOR 15 NIGHTS, the neighboring units stood there watching thinking we were being kicked out and so were the people who lived across the access street whom I had met and become friends with over the 15 nights we were there paying them to be there - we were putting money in their pocket and we were literally treated like we broke a law and were being evicted. This was the absolute worst nightmare. Making things worse my fiancé fell and broker her foot the 3rd day so getting us and my grandson all up and everything done with a gargoyle standing there was humiliating to say the least. We drove away with my grandson asking what we did wrong for her to make us leave and my fiancé crying.
Now let me tell you about the condo -
The bed is a spring board - we bought a 3" topper and suitcase to take it home to make it work and the couch is worse. It slouches in the middle it's so blown out, sitting on a side is sitting at an angle and smells due to many visitors- it's just old.
A real bummer because there was no where padded to sit. Bedding and linens were stale and smelly, we washed everything 1st morning but a few of the towels are mildewed- soon as they're wet they stink so avoid those. There is no washer/dryer unit where most units have it because the owner maintains that space- likely stores a decent mattress in there. The pool is not heated or if it is why bother, the ocean is same temp and the beach with a no rock entry for your kid(s) to play or to swim is 100 yards or so down the beach but you cannot just walk there due the the reef along the front of the property. So you know Kauai has 1 road around the island so there's traffic 80% of the time at least so taking your little one to the beach is an event, not a stroll down to the sand.
***DO NOT BRING KIDS, BRING A MATTRESS TOPPER, YOUR OWN LINENS, FOREGO THE COUCH, ACCEPT THERE IS NO COMFORTABLE SEATING INSIDE & YOU'RE GOOD TO GO
