Bromo Deddy Homestay

Deddy is a really friendly and responsive host. He was in touch regularly before our arrival and arranged transport for us from Probolinggo and back to Surabaya airport. He also took us in his own jeep for sunrise and the climb of Mount Bromo for a reasonable fee. The room upstairs is very basic but comfortable and the shower is hot. After we were cold on our first night they found us another blanket. We were also able to rent warm coats for the whole of our two night stay for 50k each which was very needed. The terrace is a nice place to sit and relax after the 2.30am start! The homestay is in an excellent location near shops, restaurants and the sunset viewpoint. We also walked from there to the newly opened glass bridge which was very cool.

The quilts had no covers and there wasn't a top sheet which means that you're basically sleeping in the same bedding as the previous guests which is a bit unusual for a hotel!

Spacious, clean, rooms and bathrooms, very friendly owner who took us in his great Land cruiser for affordable price, also helped us to arrange transfers with friendly, reliable drivers.

Good location

Bath room should be maintenance.

It has one big advantage, it's location, near to start of tracking to Bromo. For tourists who plan to walk to Bromo it's important. Good price. Host is good and responsive, he recommended taxi driver from Probalinggo and it was fairy price.

Do not expect too much, it's only good only for sleeping 1-2 nights. Only one electircal socket, uncomfortable beds, uncomfotable bath. It's cold at night, but I suppose there is no heating in any property here. Be aware about your things, our umbrella was stolen from terrace, very likely it was tourists from next room. It was rainy at night and we suspect they took our umbrella on their tour. Anyway can't recommend to keep own things on terracce in common access.
