About this cottage rental
If you want relaxation, enjoy the sun and discover the countryside, while being close to cities, castles, caves and outdoor activities, this place is for you. The apartment is comfortable and modern, with a full kitchen, a separate toilet and a shower room, a good quality sofa bed and a large bed in the bedroom (180x200). The bed can be converted into two single beds, so families with 2 children can stay comfortably. Please let us know before your arrival if you want the beds arranged like this one.
You have a private apartment with kitchen and bathroom. All linens and towels are included.
You can explore the entire land and forest, or you can relax under the tree at the pond and watch the wildlife. You have your outdoor table with 4 chairs and a small barbecue. If you wish, you can use the large communal barbecue or pizza oven, located near the communal terrace, where you can reach other guests. Here, there is a separate area for children to entertain with some games as well. There are umbrella beds and high chairs available for the little ones.
Of course we are here when you arrive so we can answer all your questions. But after that, you can simply relax in your own private place. We live on the other side of the same building, so we are there if you need anything. In the apartment you will find a lot of local tourist information.
We also have 4 guest rooms, and you are welcome to join our other guests for breakfast. For a continental breakfast with fresh local produce, we charge 6 euros per person. Please let us know the day before if you want to join.
The house is in the north of the Dordogne, where it is a little quieter than in the south, which can be quite busy in summer. There is still plenty to do for nature lovers, hikers / cyclists, horseback riders and families with children. Wherever you look there is a pretty village with castles, rivers to fish or canoe and hiking trails through the beautiful countryside. Thiviers (15 minutes by car) has a big market on Saturdays, 4 supermarkets and all the other shops you might need. It is also the capital of foie gras. And of course, there are other local specialties: truffles, nuts and wines from Bordeaux, Cahors or Bergerac. Closer to home is the village of La Coquille where you will find a supermarket, bakery, butcher and pharmacy. There are many local restaurants and bars.
